About This Program

The Media Strategy certificate program provides students with the skills they need to communicate and tell stories to a variety of audiences across a variety of media formats. The program covers areas like new media tools, the strategic role of aesthetics, and asset development in digital audio, video, and imagery. Students gain familiarity with professional tools and industry-standard methods that prepare them for roles in the media communications industry.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Aesthetics & Theory of Communications - The course examines the theories of sight, sound, and motion as applied to the design of communication products for different media formats.

New Media Tools ‐ Students will explore a variety of media used in digital and online environments to accomplish course projects and further their understanding of new-media tools, including images, text, and streaming video and audio.

Digital Video & Audio Production ‐ This course examines scripting, treatments, visual and audio storytelling, storyboarding, editing, sound, media management, narration and industry terminology, and application.
